What is Muay Thai?

Muay Thai (มวยไทย) translated; Boxing (Muay) of Thailand (Thai), is a combat sport that uses stand-up striking along with various clinching techniques. Muay Thai is referred to as the "Art of Eight Limbs" or the "Science of Eight Limbs" because it makes use of punches, kicks, elbows and knee strikes, thus using eight points of contact.


This martial art has been in existence for more than 2000 years and has evolved from the battle field to the ring as Thailand's national sport which is now also practiced around the world.


As a strong, independent sport and with the increased popularity of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA), Muay Thai has been sought after by the industry leaders in training and coaching to improve athletes overall skill, stamina, strength and cardiovascular conditioning.


About Our Muay Thai Classes

Our Muay Thai classes are person to person contact classes. Unlike the cardio kickboxing class where we are working different combinations on the thai pads.. here, we work on many different contact techniques, for example; blocking & checking, flow & sparring drills, and simple to complex combos.

Once students are ready to move into our Muay Thai program and have been training in the cardio class for a while,  they are required to complete a Muay Thai Intro. These are done with Kru Wayne in either a group or private setting.  We do this so students don't get overwhelmed at their first muay thai class.

The Muay Thai class is suitable for everyone. Young or old, experienced or novice, male or female. The class is designed in a way that it doesn't matter if your looking for a new workout regimen, want to learn self-defense, learn a new martial art, or compete in the ring.
